Jan Saugen AS contributes to the construction of ERTMS in Norway

Øyvind Knapskog has been engaged as RAMS- and quality manager by Jernbaneverkets project for constructing the ERTMS test-line within the Østfoldbanens eastern line between Ski and Sarpsborg. In addition to act as a technological pilot project for a new signalling system in Norway, the project will also provide Jernbaneverket with new knowledge and valuable experience within the areas of roll-out, organization, FDV and the interfacing with trains.

The project will also handle European standards and interoperability. The RAMS- and quality function within the project will cater for the follow-up of Jernbaneverkets internal governing processes and the processes toward the System Supplier. In addition the function will contribute to the process of obtaining an allowance from Statens jernbanetilsyn for using the systems.

The ERTMS test-line will be operational from August 2015 according to existing plans.
